The real question was how did the Air perform with Photoshop? From what I read the speed of SSD massively aided performance even with a lack of CPU. To give you an idea of performance here are some simple tests when compared to my iMac. Macbook Air 13″, Dual core i7 2.0GHz, 8Gb RAM, 512Gb SSD hard drive, and Intel HD Graphics 4000 Video. We typically use an early 2018 release of the Creative Cloud version of Adobe Photoshop for this task, but in the 2020 MacBook Air's case, we used the most current version of Photoshop, since. Wondering which Adobe apps will suffer using a Macbook pro vs air. Video and 3d apps would render slower. Wonder where photoshop, illustrato, and indesign may find itself too sluggish to use a MacBook Air.

I'd suggest you a) check out the technical specifications on both Machines and then also b) check out benchmark testing on both. Software update download for pc.
Will Macbook Air Run Photoshop Software
As a general observation, a fast i7 processor is best with that kind of app as well as lots of RAM (the new OS versions all require far more RAM and so does Adobe), so 16 GB would be a minimum.

And, a laptop is designed for portability, not necessarily processing power (unless it's a top model Macbook Pro).
Pick a model you're considering and check out the specs, then do the same with iMacs: External hard drive for apple products.
